Welcome From Our Program Director

Sanaz Kashan, MD

Thank you for your interest in the Aventura Hospital and medical Center (AHMC) Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) Fellowship Training Program in Aventura, Florida.

We are very excited to announce our continued accreditation as of October 2019 by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical education. The HPM fellowship at AHMC is a one-year ACGME accredited training program in the Department of Medicine.

Two physicians are accepted into the program per year.

With the objective of developing experts in the field, and ensuring that patients with serious illness receive expert, and appropriate care, the program offers a wide variety of clinical rotations, educational experiences, and scholarly/research opportunities.

Working within interdisciplinary teams is an integral part of HPM fellowship. Fellows have opportunities throughout the year to teach medical students, interns, residents and interdisciplinary team members. This training program prepares physicians to competently work in both palliative care and hospice setting.

We invite you to explore our website and encourage you to contact us with any questions about the program, or life in South Florida.

Applications are accepted through ERAS. We welcome applicants from a variety of medical backgrounds.
