Welcome from our Program Director

Franklin Kasmin, MD

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), has provided Initial Accreditation for Aventura Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC) to start the Gastroenterology Fellowship July 1, 2017.

AHMC's GI Fellowship is a 3 year training program. The overall educational goals are to provide the fellows with basic and advanced biochemistry, physiology and pathophysiology, which provide the basis for understanding gastroenterology, the opportunity to accumulate a critical mass of fundamental information and practical approaches for the diagnosis, management and prevention of GI disorders, and to acquire the technical and practical skills that are required by a consultant in gastroenterology. AHMC is a 450 bed acute care hospital, with a 4 room endoscopy suite, an outpatient GI clinic, and an outpatient hepatology clinic.

Our faculty and staff are committed to providing you with an excellent education and assisting you in achieving your career goals. We look forward to working with you.
