(Aventura – February, 2010) In November, 2009 Aventura Hospital and Medical Center announced the launch of a new series of health seminars focusing on caring for the care givers. This special series reaches out to adults who are entrusted with the care of their parents and other loved ones. The objective of this special program is to educate caregivers and healthcare providers alike on the important issues to consider and resources that are available for caregivers when faced with difficult challenges and healthcare questions.
On March 25, 2010, Aventura Hospital will partner with Miami Jewish Health Systems for its third caregivers seminar. Dr. Michael Alan Sivermann, MD, MPH, Medical Director of Miami Jewish Health Systems and of Douglas Gardens Hospice Care, will present a special 1 hour Continuing Medical Education (CME) class for caregivers on Palliative Care and End of Life Issues. One CEU will also be offered for nurses and other healthcare professionals.
