AHMC's H2U Program Offers Health & Wellness for All Ages

Friday, July 7, 2006 - AVENTURA, FL - Aleyda Andrew, Director of the non-profit health and wellness program H2U (Health Happiness You) of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center released today the ongoing calendar of services for the widely attended program.

Realizing that health and wellness is a growing concern for persons of all ages, not just the elderly, H2U, formerly known as Senior Friends, has gone "ageless" - offering services that cater to both the young and the young-at-heart. For a minimal membership of $15.00 per year, usually waived at health fairs and other community events, H2U members enjoy a wide range of benefits in and out of the hospital.

Yoga classes are offered Mondays at 12pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am and 6:30pm at Yogarosa Studio, located at 110 North Federal Highway, Suite 304 in Hallandale, FL. Regular price is $16.00 per class. Cost to H2U members is only $5.00 per class.

Zumba classes, the latest in Latin-dance aerobics, take place at Aventura Hospital every Thursday at 5:15pm. Classes open only to H2U members for $50.00 for the 10-week session.

H2U members can take advantage of free Low-Impact Aerobic classes every Monday and Wednesday at 10am at the H2U Fitness Center, located at Ingalls Park Community Center (just off Hallandale Beach Blvd., on SW 8th Avenue). For just $2.00 H2U members can enjoy Line Dancing classes every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 am. And for $5.00 per class, Tap Dancing classes are offered at the center every Tuesday and Thursday at 1pm. Tap classes are taught by Debbie Cartwright.
