Services Provided by the International Services Department
With a simple phone call or email you will have access to our specialized and personal services. As part of our professional team we have the collaboration of a large group of physicians and nurses that speak your language and understand your culture.
Our department is also in charge of providing you with the following services:

Physician Referrals and Appointments
We can refer our patients to excellent physicians and also coordinate for them appointments with different specialists, if necessary. We are always striving for the most efficient use of our patient's time here at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center.
Quotes for Hospital Charges
For those patients that will visit our facility without an international health insurance, we can provide an estimate of the hospital charges in order to help them take the proper decision.
Consolidation of Charges for Non-Insured Patients or "Self-Pay Packages"
We will consolidate hospital charges, with the exception of physician charges, in order for the patient to make one payment at a discounted price, for those patients that have no international health insurance.
Coordination of Benefits for Insured Patients
Aventura Hospital and Medical Center has agreements with most of the international insurance companies. When admitted to the hospital we will coordinate with the insurance company benefits including deductible, co-payment and any other necessary information.
Scheduling of Transportation Services
Once the patient confirms a visit to the hospital the International Services Department can arrange for the patient to be picked up at the airport and taken to the hospital or hotel, and afterwards back to the airport. This transportation is provided in comfortable town cars or limousines, depending on the patient's needs.
Hotel Reservations and Long or Short-Term Accomodations
The International Services Department has agreements with hotels close to the hospital. We offer several options that include hotels on the beach, close to the hospital and near the world-famous Aventura Mall. Translation Services Upon Request
Aventura Hospital and Medical Center has a large group of international physicians in over 50 specialties. In case there is a need for translation services between the patient and the physician the coordinators at the International Department can facilitate this communication.
Air-Ambulance Assistance
The International Department can assist with the coordination of air ambulance services when necessary. We can contact several companies that offer this service and arrange the service for our patients or we can also refer our patients to several air ambulance companies.

In the last three decades, Aventura Hospital and Medical Center has obtained great recognition in the areas of surgery, orthopedics, cardiology and cardiac surgery, neurology and cancer services among others. Our success in these and other fields has created interest in a larger group of physicians that are now practicing at our hospital, allowing us to offer services that include most of the mayor medical specialties.
Centers of Excellence
Cardiac and Vascular Medicine - We offer the only cardiac surgery program in northeast Miami-Dade and have Interventional Cardiologists on-call 24-hours a day. Our staff of experts specializes in invasive and interventional cardiology. Our cardiologist in our catheterization labs are utilizing the GE Innova 2100, all-digital cardiovascular imaging system to assists in better viewing and treatment of coronary artery blockages that could cause heart attacks or other serious cardiovascular damage. This revolutionary system allows cardiologists to view hard-to-see blood vessels with exceptional clarity under even the most difficult conditions. Aventura Hospital and Medical Center is the only facility in Miami-Dade County that currently has the GE Innova 2100 in operation.
Comprehensive Cancer Care - Our Cancer Center provide medical and surgical oncology services, treatment and support services including: radiation oncology, medical oncology, breast diagnostic services and cancer research. The Center also offers a comprehensive support program for patients and their relatives.
Neurology/Neurosurgery - We use state-of-the-art 3D imaging technology to treat a large variety of disorders. Some of our neurology services include EEG, EMG/NCV Studies and neurological surgery including stereotactic brain biopsies.
Spinal Disc Replacement Surgery - We helped pioneer lumbar disc replacement, which helps patients regain a better range of motion than traditional spinal fusion surgery.
Laproscopic Radical Prostectomy (LRP) - LRP is a minimally invasive technique used for early-stage prostate cancer, which removes cancerous tissue with less bleeding and quicker recovery times.
Orthopedic Services - We have a comprehensive orthopedic program including hand surgery, Board Certified and Fellowship training surgeons in orthopedics, hand and sports medicine. Our physicians perform all types of surgeries including arthroscopies and total hip and knee replacement
Diabetes Program - The Diabetes Program offers multidisciplinary inpatient and outpatient treatment for diabetes patients. Our team of experts - including physicians, endocrinologists, diabetes clinical nurse specialists, certified diabetes educators, a nutrition education specialist and exercise physiologist - offer one of the finest programs and specialty care unites of its kind in South Florida.
General Surgery - We provide the latest advances in surgical techniques on an inpatient and outpatient basis, including laparoscopic procedures.
Intensive Care Unit and Critical Care Unit - Critical care is the multi-disciplinary medical and nursing specialty which treats patients with life-threatening illnesses or injuries that require immediate treatment in order to prevent death. The goal of our intensive care and critical care unit is to help patients through a life-threatening crisis and assist in their recovery in order to return to the life they led prior to the traumatic event.
