Aventura Hospital and Medical Center announced that Dr. Chris Akins, M.D., FACS, Cardiothoracic Surgeon and his team of nurses, anesthesiologists and technicians were the first to perform cardiac surgery using the new da Vinci S HD™ Surgical System for aortic (mitral) valve repair at Aventura Hospital, the first facility to acquire the da Vinci S HD™ in Miami-Dade County.
