Aventura, FL (November 6, 2009) – Aventura Hospital and Medical Center is proud to welcome Mr. Kenneth R. Bernstein to the Board of Trustees. Mr. Bernstein has served on the General Counsel of Turnberry Associates since 1994. An active member of the South Florida community, Mr. Bernstein is currently Vice-Mayor for the town of Golden Beach. Additionally, he has been involved in numerous charitable and civic activities in the City of Aventura and Town of Golden Beach. He has served on the Board of Directors of Aventura Jewish Center, fundraising committees for United Way, and he is a member of the Dade Advisory Board for Extra Helpings and Daily Bread Food Bank.

Mr. Bernstein has also served on Great Florida Bank’s Board of Directors since 2004. He is a member of the Florida Bar, and a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida, as well as a licensed Mortgage Broker. A native Floridian, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami. Prior to joining Turnberry, he was an accountant with Deloitte, Haskins and Sells in Miami, Florida. He later became an associate with the law firm of Buchanan Ingersoll in Aventura, Florida. Additionally, he has owned and managed various businesses including a title company and retail store.
